Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to Oratio Directa. All submissions will be assessed by the editorial team to determine whether they fit the journal's aims and scope in communication studies. Manuscripts that meet the initial editorial requirements will proceed to double-blind peer review before an editorial decision is made.

Before submitting, authors must ensure that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any copyrighted material, datasets, figures, tables, or other supporting material included in the submission.

Submissions should follow the official Oratio Directa manuscript template and author guidelines. The title must be concise, the abstract must stand on its own, keywords must represent the article's core subject terms, and references must be accurate, complete, and consistently formatted. Please use the checklist below before starting a submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The manuscript follows the official Author Guidelines and uses the Oratio Directa submission template where applicable.
  • The submission has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration by another journal.
  • The manuscript is within the field of communication studies and aligns with the aims and scope of Oratio Directa.
  • The title, abstract, keywords, author metadata, affiliations, and correspondence details are complete and accurate.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with the required citation style.
  • All tables, figures, and appendices are numbered, titled, cited in the text, and supplied with proper permissions when required.
  • The submitted file is prepared in editable DOCX format and is free from identifying information when required for double-blind review.
